Our Catering Team

Hubert Francin

Chef Hubert has more than 30 years experience in the Hospitality Sector.

Commencing his career in Paris, he has travelled the world to develop his knowledge and skills and worked in some notable local restaurants such as London Street Brasserie, The Crooked Billet and The French Horn.

Chef Hubert is passionate about providing good quality fresh food to our staff and students at Highdown.

Lassana Camara

Lassana, originally from The Gambia, joined us in the summer of 2024 having worked with Chef Hubert previously as his Chef de Partie at the London Street Brasserie. Lassana's speciality and passions lie in Thai cuisine; he makes a delicious curry and knows how to pack his dishes with flavour.

Bringing vast experience from acting as opening chef for Lampopo restaurants to working in corporate catering serving the likes of Microsoft, we are thrilled he has joined the catering team at Highdown.

We count ourselves very lucky to have such accomplished and  experienced chefs running the kitchens at Highdown. Hubert and the team have introduced a broader choice of menu, weekly international themed days and freshly baked cakes. The feedback they have received has been really positive, and they are happy to report an ever-increasing number of visitors to The Gallery.

All our food is prepared from fresh, including a wide range of main meals (including vegetarian and / or vegan offerings), freshly prepared salads, sandwiches and desserts, including fresh fruit. At break times, there is a selection of hot items accompanied by an array of home baked cakes and cookies.

Café 6 opens at 7.30am - 2pm every day to Staff and Sixth Formers only.

The Gallery is open at break and lunchtime every day to all students and staff. KS3 students have priority at lunchtime and can access The Gallery during the first half of lunchtime. At 12:45pm a bell will sound which signals that KS4 can now access The Gallery.

The Pod is open every lunchtime for Year 10 and 11 students to access on their allocated fields.

Keep your eyes peeled for new promotions, upcoming theme days and big changes.
